Judge Augustus Seymour Butler , grandson of Judge Flavius J Littlejohn, was born to the senior Augustus S Butler and Cornelia Littlejohn in 1867, and his heavenly home-going transpired on 14 November 1940.[1]
Judge Butler graduated from University of Michigan Law School in 1891. He served as a Probate Court Judge from 1927-1933.[2] He took office initially by appointment to complete the term of his predecessor, Judge Charles Thew, who died in office on 6 June 1927. He was elected to the office in November of that year and then served the regular term of January 1928 to January 1933.
