Judge George R CorsigliaJudge George R Corsiglia was admitted to the Bar in 1960, having earned his B.A. from University of Michigan and his LL.B. degree from Michigan State University Law School.[1]  He was appointed to the District Court bench in 1972 by Governor Milliken to fill a vacancy.  He won reelection to the District Court in 74, but moved to the newly formed 48th Circuit Court upon the Governor’s request in 1975.[2]

He continued in that office until his retirement on 3 January 2011 (39 years total).  A second bench in the 48th Circuit Court was created in 1990,[3] at which time Corsiglia’s title changed from Judge to “Chief Judge” (the junior position being filled by transfer of Judge Harry A Beach from District Court to Circuit).
