Judge J Ford StrattonJudge John Ford Stratton was born 1 June 1886 in Climax, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, the only child of Frank E & Helen A (Ford) Stratton.[1]  In 1907, he is listed as the assistant cashier at the First State Bank of Allegan, which was established just 2 years prior by General Benjamin D Pritchard.[2]

It is believed that Judge Stratton was first seated in the Allegan County Probate Court in 1909, based on a biography in a hobbyist journal.[3]  He is listed as probate judge in 1919, but as probate clerk in 1920.[4]

Judge Stratton was the charter vice-president of the National Silver Fox Breeders Association, having raised and bred small animals and birds most of his life.[5]

Judge Stratton passed away in 1947.[6]
