Judge Stephen SheridanJudge Stephen E Sheridan served the 57th District Court for 17 years (1991-2008) before retiring at age 60.  He studied social science at Michigan State University and law at Stetson University.  He was originally appointed in April 1991 by Governor John Engler to fill the seat vacated by Judge Harry Beach when he moved from District Court to Circuit.[1]

As he approached retirement, Judge Sheridan remarked:

“The child abuse cases and sex offender cases are some of the worst.  Sometimes I just wonder, how can all this be going on in this beautiful county?”[2]
